I'm Partnering with Mission E4
I want to invite you to be part of this great work with me!
The Mission E4 team has been working in the country of Haiti for over 20 years. We started with just seventy school kids at a little elementary school in a village called Cassange. Today Mission E4 works in more that 10 locations in Haiti and has over 2500 children in our school programs. The child sponsorship program provides each child with a free education, a hot meal each day at school, free medical care at our clinic, and more! Mission E4 also employs over 150 Haitian staff who run all of the operations in country. We are excited to have Magnum Nutraceuticals partnering with us so we can continue to increase the number of children and their families who will be impacted by our work!
My Story
I became aware of Mission E4 several years ago from my good friend and theatre buddie, Chelle who had been working with this group for many years. I first thought of going on a Mission trip in early 2017. I work in a school though and can only go over the summer and unfortunately it did not work out that July. However, it stayed in the back of my mind. I started sponsoring a child in early 2018 and was all set and ready to go meet him that summer, but due to political instability my long awaited trip was cancelled. Finally in 2019, I was able to get there and met Samson. The trip had many touching moments but getting to meet him and his mother and see exactly where and who I was helping was surreal. Here was this child that did not know me. We spoke different languages, but yet we felt connected immediately. Once I returned to the US, I vowed to find sponsors for other children just like him who need food, medical care an education and hope that their lives could get better.
In January 2022, in honor of the anniversary of Scott Long's death, I decided to sponsor another child at one of our new schools in Belloc. I hope to meet Rose some day in the future.
It's amazing how far your dollars can go in Haiti. Entire communities are being improved for eternity and what helps one, benefits all. It's truly amazing.
Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and has 10 million people. I am often asked if I am really "making a difference" and I think of this card I carry in my wallet with this story...
A little boy walked carefully along a crowded beach, where hundreds of starfish washed up within his reach up as far as the eye could see. So one by one he rescued them, and then heard a stranger's call, "It won't make a difference, you cannot save them all." However, as he tossed another back toward the ocean's setting sun, he replied with deep compassion, "it made a difference to that one."
